This stone column on the Domberg commemorates the historian Veit Arnpeck. Arnpeck was born around 1440 as the son of the Freising shoemaker Christoph Arnpeck. He went to school in Amberg and studied at the University of Vienna from 1454 to 1457. He then worked as a chaplain in Amberg in 1465 and moved to Landshut and Freising (St. Andreas) as a priest. Arnpeck died in Landshut in 1496; the cause of death was almost certainly the plague.
