The St. Gertrude Church of Piringen was built in 1940-1941, but the early Gothic tower of a much older church that replaces it has been preserved (from the 13th century). Next to the church is the beautiful rectory from the 18th century, restored in 1894. There is a small parking lot at the church (across the street). There is also an information board with walking routes from here on the wall around the church grounds.

The St. Gertrude Church consists of a front square tower with the cruciform church attached to it. The tower is made of flint using various other materials, including Roman material. In 1819, the Romanesque or early Gothic church was demolished because it had become dilapidated in the 18th century. It was replaced by a classicist hall church. The early Gothic tower from the 13th century will be preserved. In 1940-1941 the hall church was replaced by the current church designed by Joseph Deré. Even then, the early Gothic tower was retained.
