Nice walking path along the Tjonger. The Tjonger is a river that flows through Southeast Friesland, from about Kuinre to Oosterwolde. In the Stellinwerf dialect, the river is also called De Kuinder. It is a historic waterway that used to be used for transporting peat. Nowadays the Tjonger is open to recreational boating as part of the old Turfroute.
