In the heart of Alfter, idyllically located between Alfter Castle and the parish church of St. Matthäus Alfter, is the House of Alfter History.
The building was built in 1938/39 by the architect Wilhelm Denniger as a Catholic youth home. Until the 1980s it served the parish as a parish hall and youth home.
