Fulda is really a highlight for me! Super nice old town, half-timbered houses, lots of nice restaurants, people sit outside everywhere (student town) / very nice outdoor dining.
A very livable city! And if you need an alternative to cycling: I also did one of my most beautiful canoe tours from Fulda (Kämmerzell).
From Fulda you can get to the Rhön (Hilders, Tann) via the Milseburg cycle path and from there (various options) to the Werra!
