The 6.2 ha Hanssenspark is the largest green lung in Vilvoorde and is located near the station.
With the cooperation of the horticultural school of Vilvoorde, the park was laid out in 1898 in accordance with the then prevailing romantic English landscape style, with winding paths, sloping lawns, large water feature and groups of standard trees.
