A great couple of kilometers in the middle of Bockum-Hövel. Something for all seasons, but particularly in the spring and summer a great refuge.

The name "Geinegge" comes from the Saxon. There, the word ending "... harrow" on marsh, moor o. Earlier spellings are "Gheneighe", "Gynegge", "Geneghe", "Gyneghe", "Genegge", "Geneege" or "Geinhegge". They probably refer to a "water (run) between hedges" Source: Wikipedia.

The Geinegge is very idyllic and easy to drive in dry weather. The forest there is very beautiful and dense and provides a lot of shade. Very nice for pedestrians and cyclists. The path is part of the Bockum-Hoevel Aktiv 5 km circular route.
