According to tradition, the train station was to be built behind the cemetery, but like many other places, the "steam horse" was banned from the village. The highlights were certainly the opening trip on November 21, 1858, when the "Mariazell" locomotive from Vienna came through here, and when Empress Elisabeth traveled to Salzburg on the train that bore her name in July 1860. Today, the train station in Sankt Valentin is a popular place to change trains, get off, continue your journey and is a transport hub for many people.
