The Kanning branch church stands on gently sloping ground northeast of the hamlet of Kanning in the municipality of Ernsthofen in the Amstetten district. Dedicated to Saint Wolfgang, the branch church belongs to the deanery of Haag in der. The church is a listed building. The founding and founder of this formerly private church are unknown. Initially a branch of the parish church of St. Valentine under the patronage of Erla Monastery, it became a branch of the Ernsthofen parish church with the establishment of the vicarage in 1786. The nave vault was created by the architect Carl Anton Zeronetti in 1735. It was restored in 1884.
