Mountain biking

One of the few glaciers you can easily get close to. A detour from the classic route Pontresina - Bernina is definitely worth it. You can drive the way from the entrance to the park very well with the bike. Impressive are above all the markings, on which one can read in which year the glacier had which size. And pretty frightening to see what's left of it today.

The Morteratsch Glacier is an Alpine glacier in the Bernina group in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. Like almost all alpine glaciers, the Morteratsch glacier is also affected by extensive shrinkage as part of global warming; between 1900 and 2017 it was shortened by around 2500 meters.
