From the road, Buachaille Etive Mòr looks nigh on impregnable. However, one of its main weaknesse, Coire na Tuliach, allows hikers to get up onto its main ridge without too much difficulty. It's still a strenuous ascent with some tough ground to cover in its upper reaches, where scree makes things awkward underfoot.
In winter, the corrie is likely to be covered in snow and is an avalanche black spot. Only skilled mountaineers should ascend this way and only having studied the avalanche forecast.

This is the classic walkers route up to Buachaille Etive Mòr. An easy route in summer, it becomes more challenging in winter conditions.
