  • The Fichtelbergschanzen in Oberwiesenthal consists of several ski jumps. The facility includes three smaller ski jumps of category K 9, K 15, K 36, two medium-sized jumps of category K 51, K 64 and a normal jump of category K 95. The jumps are covered with mats. The ski jump is part of the Oberwiesenthal Olympic base. It has a measuring system for the forces when jumping.

The old Fichtelbergschanze was inaugurated in 1938 after two years of construction and was called the Martin-Mutschmann-Schanze until 1945. At that time the ski jump was one of the most modern in Germany. From 1972 to 1974, after the old ski jump was demolished, a new Fichtelberg ski jump with a steel tower was built. The new K point was 90 meters. The normal hill was completely reconstructed in 1991 and equipped with a glass track and mats. Between 2000 and 2002 the profile of the facility was completely reconstructed. The new K point is 95 meters. On October 3, 2004, the K 9 matted ski jump was inaugurated for juniors, so that there are now jumps with the K points K 95, K 64, K 51, K 36, K 15 and K 9.
