Hiking
You walk here almost parallel to the Oude Mandel, on the Vlasrotersroute.
This is a floodable area. When I passed by at the end of October, the path was a bit swampy, but still very easy to walk.
The Vlasrotersroute is a set of 4 walking loops through and around the small flax villages of Deinze. In the past, flax was sown, harvested and retted in the Leie. "Retting" refers to the process in which the flax is exposed to moisture after drying.
