At this point, after 168 km of travel, the Kocher flows into the Neckar in Kochendorf, one of the largest tributaries of the Neckar.
It is believed that a Roman port facility once stood at this location.
Two km downstream lies the Jagstfeld district, with the confluence of the Jagst, its "twin river."
The 330 km long Kocher-Jagst cycle path is very popular.
