"... The mine connecting railway from the Friedrich Heinrich colliery in Lintorf to the Rheinpreussen port in Homberg secured the transport of coal across the Rhine. It was opened in 1912 together with the colliery. Various facilities at the Rheinpreussen mine were also connected to the colliery railway After the end of hard coal mining in 2012, sections of the railway line were shut down, but remained largely intact.
The section between Rheinkamp train station and Lintfort will be restored as a temporary feeder for the State Garden Show 2020, which will take place on the former colliery site, and is to be expanded in the long term as a connection from Kamp-Lintfort for passenger transport. ..."
