In the south, Tauber Gießen borders the municipality of Rheinhausen (Oberhausen) on the Leopold Canal. On the southern bank of the Leopold Canal, where it flows into the Old Rhine, there are new territories for two beaver families, each of which has built a beaver lodge. The sighting was noted in January 2023. The beavers have already felled numerous trees in this area. During the day the beavers are not active, only after dusk you are lucky if you want to observe them. On my hike you can find the place:
