The Staffelburg Mörnsheim, which sits as a summit castle on the 510 meter high castle hill, was built by King Conrad I in 912/933.
A keep with an octagonal tower was added to the fortifications in 1225/28 by Prince-Bishop Henry I.
The remains of the walls are accessible, the well-preserved part is privately owned.
