North of the village of Loenen aan de Vecht, on the edge of the Waterleidingplas, stands the Loenderveense Molen. The mill was built in 1652 by Amsterdam merchants to drain the swampy polder. Immediately behind the mill are capegaten and legakkers: remnants of peat extraction in this area.
