Work on the Church of Our Lady of the Ascension in Nederhorst den Berg was completed on August 10, 1889.
From 1896 everyone could read the time on the tower clock with the "Marienblue" dial and the gold-colored hands. However, the clock had to be wound up on time; the pastor and sexton had to climb 65 steps every day. In 1963 the clock became electric and the bells could be rung at the push of a button.Source: loosdrechtsplassengebied.nl/zien-doen/bezienswaardigheden/o-l-v-hemelvaart-kerk
