The mill on Doornzele Dries dates from 1840. The protected stone grain windmill was originally a wooden stake mill, erected before 1414. In 1839 it was replaced by a stone windmill. The wooden windmill cap was destroyed in a storm in 1948 and finally removed in 1957. The mill was not used after 1948. In 1996 it became the property of the municipality. From 2001 to 2003, the hull of the mill was restored and decorated. On top of the mill hull you have a fantastic view of the Dries and the Ghent harbour
