The Cathedral of San Pedro de Vic, officially Cathedral of San Pedro Apostle, is located in the province of Barcelona (Spain). It is a religious temple and headquarters of the diocese of the town of the same name. It is characterized because it covers a large part of European architectural history in its different styles, from the Romanesque to the Neoclassical, passing through the full Gothic, the late and the Baroque.

The initial cathedral was built during the episcopate of Abbot Oliba, bishop of Vic (1018 and 1046) in Romanesque style, being consecrated in 1038 by Archbishop Wifred of Narbonne. The bell tower and the crypt are preserved from this stage, whose capitals belong to a previous temple.

The cloister dates back to the 14th century, highlighting the columns and capitals, in a marked Gothic style. The main altarpiece also belongs to this style, although it is later Gothic, dating from the 15th century. Already in the baroque the chapel of San Bernardo is included.

However, the largest expansion occurred between 1781 and 1803, a period in which the temple was remodeled by Josep Moretó i Codina, who gave it its current neoclassical character. The current façade of the cathedral dates from this stage. In 1891, the Episcopal Museum of Vic opened its doors, right in front of the cathedral and above its previous cloister, which included some works initially located in the cathedral.

Already in the 20th century, the mural paintings inside by Josep Maria Sert stand out. In 1931 the cathedral was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument, but shortly after, in the first years of the Spanish civil war, the cathedral suffered a fire, which caused part of the building to collapse, and it was restored shortly after.
