Sokanaapa
A short, pleasant trail through a swamp in Finnish Lapland. The Sokanaapa trail is officially closed, but that doesn’t stop us from taking it! The birdwatching tower, however, is unsafe and has been made inaccessible, but the duckboards across the swamp are still in good condition.

Petservaara midnight sun hike
A hike to the summit of Petservaara (449 m). The top features a lookout tower, a simple fireplace, firewood supply, and a toilet. The summit is forested and the views are fairly limited, even from the tower, but the midsummer "sunset" was beautiful and made the visit worthwhile.

Sukulanrakka Giant's Kettles
Visit to the Sukulanrakka Giant’s Kettles near Rovaniemi. The site is accessible by car, but I chose to walk the 1.5 km access road since I wasn’t sure about its condition—though it turned out to be quite manageable.

Vammavaara
