Utsjoki three peak hike
Hiking near Utsjoki to visit three peaks. Two of them (Vuolleseavttetvárri and Johtalanvárri) are along a hiking trail, while Heargevárri required a steep off-trail hike. The start/finish pojnt was next to Utsjoki church.

Alggasvarri
A quick hop to Norwegian side of the border. Alggasvarri Hill at 570 metres is modest by Norwegian standards, but still impressive rising directly from the sea. The route follows a road that is closed to car traffic.

Pulmanki hike Day 2: Cuomasvarri & Luossajohka
The second (and last full) day of this hike. Visited Čuomasvárri summit (440m) and Luossajohka falls. The latter is actually a set of rapids, not a waterfall, but impressive one, and certainly off-the radar thanks to its remoteness. The day ended at a wild camping spot almost back to Pulmanki.

Pulmanki hike - Day 1
The first day of the hike started at Lake Pulmanki, following the Pulmanki–Sevettijärvi trail before leaving the trail to find a scenic campsite high on a hill.

Pyhä-Nattanen
An evening hike to Pyhä-Nattanen after completing the Terävä-Nattanen trail. Pyhä-Nattanen is easier to access and therefore more popular, but both hikes offer rewarding views and a worthwhile experience from the summit.

Noitatunturi
Hike to Noitatunturi, the highest peak in the Pyhä-Luosto area (elevation 540m). The trail went also through the Isokuru gorge.

Kumputunturi midnight sun hike
A hike across all the peaks of Kumputunturi hill on a sunny night! While there is a marked trail to the main summit, most of my route followed the off-trail rocky ridge.

Sokanaapa
A short, pleasant trail through a swamp in Finnish Lapland. The Sokanaapa trail is officially closed, but that doesn’t stop us from taking it! The birdwatching tower, however, is unsafe and has been made inaccessible, but the duckboards across the swamp are still in good condition.

Taking the longer route at Kivitunturi, including a short detour off the trail to the summit, which is forested and offers limited views.

Petservaara midnight sun hike
A hike to the summit of Petservaara (449 m). The top features a lookout tower, a simple fireplace, firewood supply, and a toilet. The summit is forested and the views are fairly limited, even from the tower, but the midsummer "sunset" was beautiful and made the visit worthwhile.
