The Cu Chi Tunnels are one of the most impressive relics of Vietnamese history. They are located about 70 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and served as a strategically crucial hiding place for the Vietnamese partisans (Viet Cong) during the Vietnam War (and even earlier in the fight against the French).
