Running Highlight

A' Chioch is a summit on the ridge between Beinn Fhada & Ben More. It stands at 867 but doesn't have very much local relief so is normally classed as part of the ridge rather than a standalone mountain.
The ridge is great but quite narrow and scrambly in sections with areas of steep scree to climb. It's not always very clear where the path goes and for this reason it's best climbed on the way to Ben More rather than in descent from Ben More so that you have the summit as a target. None of the scrambles are very technical but they can feel a bit intimidating especially in higher winds or wet weather. All the hardest sections can be avoided by following paths away from the ridge line.
Good effort if you keep up a run along this section but it’s still a great running expedition and the descent from Ben More back to the coast is definitely faster!
