After it became clear that the capacity of the Marienkapelle was no longer sufficient due to the growing number of inhabitants in the post-war years, a church building association was founded in 1959. A year later, the architect W. Schilling drafted the plans for a modern new building that integrated the Marienkapelle as an auxiliary building. The Catholic Church of Our Lady, which was built in place of the demolished old schoolhouse, was consecrated on September 8, 1963 by Archbishop Josef Schneider.
