    Hiking

The foothills of the Franconian Alb foreland is 332 meters high. Despite being mentioned several times in the 15th century, the eponymous castle has not yet been identified. His castle sandstone was quarries as early as 1400. The southern slope was used from 1675 for the construction of beer cellars. Thanks to the cellar storage, Erlangen became the pioneering city of beer export. The Bergkirchweih has been held in the cellars at Pentecost since 1755. On the north slope of the mountain is the small house, into which the poet August von Platen temporarily withdrew, and the Israelite cemetery.

Here one beer cellar is lined up next to the others, the area is used as a large beer garden and for church fairs. Virtually none of the many breweries survived
