Hiking

The Hermitage Garden in Waghäusel received another attraction in summer 2021. A sculpture created by the local artist Jens Grundschock was unveiled at a vernissage between the Fremdenbau and the Bouleplatz. This sculpture is intended to create a direct link to the former sugar factory. A large white sugar cube with a crowning golden frame is shown, which was made from scrap parts and real gold leaf from the sugar silos demolished the previous year. A special form of remembrance of a flourishing industry.
