At first, the Grand Place was small!
More precisely, there were 2 small squares separated by a row of houses, one in front of the St Martin church, and one in front of the town hall.
In 1869, the Grand Place took its current form, and in 1911, the new town hall was completed after 4 years of work.
The Grand Place was then considered the largest in the department, but it was cluttered by the tram terminus, then a bus station.

Very nice city hall and church. I would avoid to come here at night though.
