The plant (telephone tower Brackenheim 1) is located on the unnamed, with 472 m above sea level. NN highest peak of the Stromberg main ridge. The construction is based on plans by Fritz Leonhardt and Erwin Heinle. Leonhardt also designed the Stuttgart television tower. The tower was built in 1969 as one of numerous type towers for the radio link network of the Deutsche Bundespost, which was then under construction. However, the highest peak of the Stromberg is the Baiselsberg at 476.6 m above sea level. NN, on the ridge opposite to the south.
There used to be US military metal lattice towers here, which have been dismantled. The tower was used by NATO for some time in the 1970s. The building by the tower also dates from this period.

The 125 m high Brackenheim telecommunications tower stands on the highest elevation of the Stromberg.
There is no view from there, but the viewer can take in the height and appearance of the tower. This transmission tower can be seen from afar on the Stromberg. If you have been there yourself and later recognize him from afar, you will have a lasting memory.

This "striking tower" with 124 m has fascinated me for decades because you could see it from all the elevations in the Kraichgau and Kleine Odenwald, often together with the Michaelsberg in Cleebronn.
I've often driven past Eibensbach, the location, in my car.
By the way, for the trees you can hardly see the tower ... the "NATO route" goes there, because this tower was once owned by the western military alliance in the 1970s.
