The last push up to the summit is a steep, continuously challenging slope. The trail is fairly well-packed, but there's enough loose dirt that if you don't have shoes with good traction and good control of your stride, you could find yourself slipping a bit.

Rendezvous Peak is a popular hike, though far less busy than Flattop, Alaska's most ascended peak. This makes Rendezvous a better option for a... rendezvous, if you fancy a quieter hike. The views from up high are magnificent, with Pioneer Peak seen beautiful and even distant Mount Marcus Baker on fine, clear days.
