Location: Newport, Lincoln County, Oregon, United States
Newport is a small town at the mouth of the Yaquina River, which forms a natural bay and an ideal coastal port. The special attraction is that the place is not just a resort, like so many others here, but also the home port of a small fishing fleet. Accordingly, souvenir shops, seafood restaurants and fish factories alternate cheerfully on the historic bayfront, the smell is sometimes very strict, atmosphere authentic. And nature also plays along: in the harbor area, hordes of male sea lions have settled on the pontoons in several places and spend most of the year there. They determine the soundscape here.

Hear, see and smell the sea lions! The wooden sea lion docks at Port Dock One on Newport's Bay Front have provided sea lion transportation for over 18 years. They offer the public a unique opportunity to observe these amusing and interesting animals up close. For many, this is the quintessential Newport experience.
