Bike Touring Highlight
Majbølle Mill
In 1612 the first mill was built. This was a "stub mill" that was in operation until 1896. During these 284 years several major repairs were carried out and the owners changed frequently.
In 1896 the mill was dismantled and replaced by an effective “Hollandmühle”.
After the 2nd World War in 1945 it became unproductive because more modern machines had a higher output. In 1982 the last active miller family Grethe and Gunnar Rasmussen transferred the mill to ”Majbølle Møllelaug” with the condition that it be kept.
By 1989 the mill was restored and the inauguration took place.
An exhibition on the 2nd floor shows the history of the renovation.
The grain magazine is used as a place for excursions and meetings.
A changing exhibition takes place in the anteroom. ”Majbølle Møllelaug” is an independent institution that is solely responsible for the condition and maintenance of the mill.
The work is done by volunteers.
The donations from the public will only be used to maintain the mill.visitlolland-falster.de/de/majbolle-muehle-gdk615733
