High up on Monte Gibralfaro in Málaga stands the castle of the same name, with its well-preserved fortress walls that offer you a wonderful view of the city and the coast of the Costa del Sol.

The Castillo de Gibralfaro, along with the Alcazaba and the Picasso Museum, is one of the absolute highlights of Málaga. The 14th-century castle is located 130 meters above sea level. Although large parts of the fortress were destroyed during the war between Spain and France at the beginning of the 19th century, a visit is worthwhile just for the spectacular view.

There are many ways to reach the Castillo - on foot, by car or bus.
