The well-preserved medieval monastery complex of the former Premonstratensian monastery is located in the heart of the town of Rehna, which invites you to take a tour with its half-timbered houses, artesian wells and the Radegasttal.

The former monastery church, the cloister, the guest refectory and the courtroom of the monastery complex are evidence of medieval building culture. The founding document of the nunnery is dated to 1237.

Experience a spiritual place whose history began with the Christianization of the former Slavic country and which, 300 years later, was secularized in the course of the Reformation and pledged to the Electorate of Hanover in the 18th century.
Today the Protestant parish, the monastery association and the official administration are based in the monastery complex and shape the place in the field of tension between religion, civic engagement and regional administration.

The church, originally a Romanesque building, acquired its present form largely in the mid-15th century. Cross-ribbed vaults were added, and a triumphal arch was added between the choir and nave. Remains of wall paintings can be found on the south wall. The carved altar was added to the church in 1520.
