The Castle of Saint George was a medieval fortification built on the right bank of the Guadalquivir River, in the Spanish city of Seville, Andalusia. In addition to its defensive function, this castle also served as the headquarters and prison of the Spanish Inquisition. However, in the 19th century, it was demolished to make way for the construction of a food market.
Although it no longer exists in its original form, the underground ruins of the castle currently house a museum center that offers information about the history of the castle, the Spanish Inquisition and religious repression.
