Best Hikes to Gertelbacher Wasserfälle
Tips
  • Wonderful juxtaposition of small and large cascades. Running from bottom to top, every few steps there is an increase with new aha effects.

  • A narrow beautiful path meanders through the gorge between rocks along the creek.
Stairs and bridges give you constantly changing perspectives of the waterfalls.

  • Magnificent little valley with a stream that plunges into the deep over several small waterfalls. Perfect for running on warm days. Surefootedness is urgently required as it goes over hill and dale
    Good physical condition required.

  • Definitely sturdy shoes, but very slippery. Great way, also for children.

  • On an approx. 2 km long route you hike along the stream through the rocky Gertelbach gorge. There are always interesting views of the waterfalls over stairs and bridges.

  • Steep path along the waterfalls. Rocky and cool, with many wooden bridges over the rushing water. It's great fun for kids to walk barefoot, but it's very cold. A pleasure in every season.

  • Definitely a great hike, but if you walk down somewhere for a long time, you have to go up again at some point ;-) And the climb back to the starting point is tough! Not really recommended with very small children, but our sons survived it well, the dog is still alive. Conclusion: gladly again!

  • Beautiful hiking trail along the waterfalls - there is always something new to discover and the path is simply fascinating. Best to walk during the week and outside of the holidays, otherwise overcrowded and many families on the way ...

  • The dense forest with its moss-covered rocks is mystical, in between the water tumbles down numerous cascades and sweeps away the viewer with its flow, who cannot escape the beauty of nature in this spot of earth.

  • Great landscape with a very nice hiking trail along the stream; the last part of the way (after the hut) is steepest; also nice for families with children and very popular with photographers.

  • Very beautiful, rustic waterfalls and a good starting point for a hike, for example to the Mehliskopf, about 6 km away

  • Since 2017 also in the lower area a lovely lovingly landscaped nature trail. Gertelbach waterfalls are just great and exhausting.

  • Steep climb and rewards at every point. Here is a great rock formation as a waterfall and who looks exactly finds the stone underpass on the left side of the stream bed at the rise.

  • Very beautifully designed path along the Gertelbach with a refuge and many rest options.
Ideal destination for hot summer days, but no less beautiful in other seasons.
Since there are several small tributaries, it can be slippery in several places, so good footwear is recommended.

  • Great in warm weather as it remains relatively cool in the gorge even in summer. The direction of the gorge is best up, the descent is rather unpleasant because of many high levels.
