The Stendel-Eck is a rest area for hikers designed by the Groß Schneen local history association on the edge of the Dreisch clearing. In the second half of the 19th century, drill demonstrations of the Northeim cuirassiers (mounted soldiers with breastplates) took place here in front of the eyes of the last Crown Prince Ernst August of Hanover.
