This striking rock had a name at least in the past: Schlageterstein. A commemorative plaque placed high up for the nationalist Albert Leo Schlageter was increasingly damaged and smeared with paint in the course of the 1990s. The text has now been chiseled out. I am not aware of any marches or ritual acts, such as on Wilhelmswiese near Northeim.

In fact, this rock was climbed. It is listed in the DAV rock information system: Göttinger Wald / Reinhäuser Wald / Schlageterstein. Unfortunately, he is currently banned. Too bad, he is well suited for training, since from IV.-IX. Grade UIAA routes are in place.

Gigantic rock 🪨, a little north of the Wendebach and the Waldschlösschen. Big enough to try bouldering or climbing 🧗🏼♂️.
