Structurally, the Friedberger Warte dates back to 1478, when the Frankfurters erected the watchtower on the Landwehr.
From 2015 to 2017, the place at the waiting room was redesigned so that the cycle path along Friedberger Landstrasse out of town is now safe and usable again.

The Friedberger Warte was built in the late Gothic style in 1478 as a lookout for the Frankfurt Landwehr on the Eulenberg, the highest point in Bornheim. The complex consists of a rectangular fortified yard with a rectangular floor plan measuring 22 by 28 metres. On the west side is the guard house with kitchen and fountain room. The most striking component is the slender defense and watchtower with a slate-covered roof.
