At the exit of the town of Koman, after going through a tunnel and reaching the dam, there is a port. Here you can take the ferry, or other traditional boats, to make a journey through the Drin river. Some villages and small hotels are scattered among the steep mountains. The ferry line runs about 33 kilometers between Koman and Fierza, from where several excursions to the Valbona National Park depart.

Stunning 2.5hr trip along the River Drin. We bought our tickets at the small cafe just before the terminal. The ferry departs once a day so arrive early to be sure of getting on. They pack the cars and passengers very tightly, we found standing room (and a fantastic view) from the back of the ferry (past the toilets)

Hiking
The car ferry between Koman and Fierzë sails through a narrow mountain gorge where Lake Koman stretches between steep limestone cliffs. Large, robust ferries transport cars, bicycles, and travelers across the long water route, while the view constantly changes between narrow passages and wide, green valleys. It is a functional connection that simultaneously forms an impressive tour: clear mountain water, high walls, and a route that winds deep through the Drin Reservoir.
