The 3.5 km long city walls, which were built during the Eighty Years' War, have been completely restored. You can walk all the way around the fortress at different levels in about 1 hour, where you can enjoy the most beautiful views. Together with the beautiful city canal, they give Hulst the unique cachet of a historic fortified city.
