One of Dorset’s Elizabethan gems (1597) a rare E-plan house.
Built around 1597 and surrounded by Capability Browns landscaped gardens. In the late 1950's Dorset County Council wanted to demolish it which led to a public outcry, perhaps not surprisingly.
