At the end of the nineteenth century, a prehistoric cemetery was discovered on the Heesakkerheide, as explained on an information board (where someone also expresses dissatisfaction with the nitrogen agreement). Hiking

These urnfields were discovered during excavations in the 20th century and reconstructed in the late 1980s. In Pelt, a pre-Roman cemetery was discovered on the Heesakkerheide, a Mesolithic site (the Middle Stone Age) near the Steenweg site and a pre-Roman cemetery on the Hoeven. On the Dorperheide, (fragments of) beakers were found that belonged to the Beker culture, a name that refers to a period in the Palaeolithic (the old Stone Age) and which flourished in the Kempen from approximately 2,200 to 1,500 BC.
