The Davert is a densely wooded cultural landscape south of Münster. Together with the adjoining Hohe Ward, it is home to the largest contiguous forest area in the region. Their moist and often still natural forest is characterized by valuable oaks, hornbeams and European elms and has been designated as a bird and nature reserve because of its great biodiversity.
