The church of the Assumption in Yeste (Albacete) was built throughout the 16th century. It was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest on March 16, 1983.

The architectural complex is made up of two clearly differentiated parts that correspond to two different periods in construction. One part corresponds to the first church, whose construction began at the end of the 15th century and was carried out in a Gothic style. The second part was built perpendicular to the first, with a Renaissance style doorway. With the construction of the second part, the temple complex was changed, acquiring a "T" shape, with the main chapel now placed in the center of the body of the first church. Around 1527 is estimated to be the year in which the first part of the complex was completed, with the participation of the Biscayan stonemason Ortuño de Villar, although the work of Master Rodrigo is also documented.

The Gothic nave has a polygonal apse with five panels, covered with a star vault. Of interest is the cover located at the foot of the temple, blinded from old, when accessing the church due to the extension carried out in the second half of the century. This cover was made in the Gothic style with clear influences from the Castilian school of Valladolid and Burgos, although today it has lost part of the sculptures it once had.

Access to the second nave built is from the side (epistle side) through a Renaissance-type doorway. This doorway presents two bodies framed by paired columns, with sculptures in the intercolumnia. In the center of the upper body the relief of the Assumption is sheltered under a central arch, a motif that we see in other works by Andrés de Vandelvira.

Numerous works of sculpture, painting and altarpieces are kept in the church. An image of Mary, Calvary, the Crucified, one of Jesus and another of the Assumption, belonging to the main altarpiece (16th century) currently missing, are preserved. Another altarpiece is that of the Epiphany, by Pedro Orrente; It retains excellent gilding and careful polychromy. In the Gothic nave you can admire two good canvases by Orrente, from 1627, one of Saint Joseph and the Child and another of the Purísima.
