You can see a double rampart and an information board has been put up at the rest area. The name Schwedenschanze came about after the Thirty Years' War, although the rampart was probably not built by the Swedes but by the imperial troops. Boundary stones of the former kingdoms of Prussia and Bavaria can be found in the forest around the complex and on the Hohe Hölle pass road.

At the Hohe Hölle (High Hell), there is a historically valuable archaeological monument from the Thirty Years' War – the Swedish Wall. Located on the northern slope of the mountain, not far from the Swedish Wall parking lot, it was constructed as a so-called triangular redoubt. It was most likely built by Swedish troops during the Thirty Years' War. Soldiers could hide behind the so-called Swedish Wall and possibly even position artillery.
