Berkheide is a 1700 ha. Dune area on the Dutch North Sea coast between Scheveningen and Katwijk. It is located mostly in the municipality of Wassenaar and forms together with Meijendel the Natura 2000 area Meijendel & Berkheide. For the owner Staatsbosbeheer it is part of the management unit Hollands Duin. Berkheide is also the name of a fishing village that has been in the area for several hundred years.

Cycling

Who thinks Holland is flat, should drive this dune bike path. Class infrastructure !!! But Vorischt should have two things:

1) Road cyclists: These are quite fast on the road and you can often not look far ahead in this way
2) Good weather: Then it can get crowded on this bike. Then it is also caution!
