The historic Neustädtles Cemetery was established in the 16th or 17th century. The cemetery is located on a hill between Willmars and Neustädtles. Today, approximately 1,300 gravestones (matzevot) remain in the 47.80-acre cemetery in the old part and 113 in the new part. The last burial took place in 1938.

The Jewish cemetery on the edge of Willmars in the neighboring community of Neustädtles was established in 1727 by the Hessian Baron Carl Ludwig Schenck von Schweinsberg. The highly interesting Willmars Jewish cemetery, built in the 18th century, saw the last "regular" funeral ceremony in connection with the terrible pogrom night of the Nazi troops in November 1938!
