The Burgtheater benefits from another special feature of the rose garden in a very special way. Since 1888, the air from the Volksgarten has been coming into the Burgtheater through a ventilation system. The hut, which is responsible for the fresh air, is popularly called “mushrooms” because of its shape. As soon as the roses begin to bloom, something very special happens: the scent of roses that arise in spring reaches the Burgtheater.
