The Wernigerode citizens' fountain is a source in the forest area west of the Hasserode district of Wernigerode in the Harz district of (Saxony-Anhalt).
The fountain, next to which there is a seating area that was last restored by the Harz Club in autumn 2006, is located on the connecting path from the Mönchsbuche to the Bielsteinchaussee not far from the Steinernen Renne.
The fountain commemorates the events of the political change in 1989 in the GDR. Therefore, a stone edging the fountain bears this year.

Here you can take a break... the fountain seems to provide drinking water, but you should be careful. But not much water bubbled.

Filling a water bottle takes about 20 minutes, so there's plenty of time for a break 😉
It's also a treat for your feet!
